Winter workshops 2017

Are you up for some winter music fun?   Do you fancy getting some new skills happening while the nights are long and there’s plenty of time to practise? There will be a special series of Creativity & Music workshops throughout New Zealand this winter.

Dates:

  • Thames – Saturday 17 June
  • Auckland – Sunday 16 July
  • Tauranga – Sunday 23rd July
  • Kapiti Paraparaumu – Sunday Aug 6th

Come and play music with a group of people who are also exploring self expression with sound. Bring with your voice, your instrument and your open heart.

We will be stretching, warming up, singing, writing, painting, making poems, creating rhythms, getting our groove on, listening, discovering and sharing songs.

It is not necessary to have an instrument to get the most out of this workshop however please bring any instruments you have that you like to play or would like to learn how to play.

You may also like to bring your creativity journal and favourite pen/pencils. Paper, paints, pencils and pens will be also be provided.

  1. Why is there nothing like this in theWellington region??:( I would love to experience something like this. I play guitar and piano and have written a few songs in the past. I am yet to do anything with my music but it is a huge passion of mine. Always has been. I am 34 years of age. If there is anything like this around the Wellington region could you please give me a bell?? Would be so awesome.
    Thankyou

    1. Kia Ora Bonnie – thanks for your comment. I’m spending a lot of time on the Kapiti Coast at the moment and I think Paraparaumu would be a great place to run a Creativity & Music workshop. Would that be a location you would consider coming up the coast to attend? I think it would be a good community to promote a workshop. I look forward to hearing from you.

  2. Hey Karina

Yes I could do that. Paraparaumu is a nice place. I’d be more than happy to make the journey up those ways. Would I need to bring my guitar?
Please do let me know of days, times and locations you will be running your workshops up those ways- thanks 🙂

    1. Wonderful! At the moment I haven’t scheduled anything but I will put something together asap and let you know about it. I was in Wellington today visiting family and it’s likely I will come down again in a couple of weeks. Would you be interested in a one to one lesson at your house in the meantime? If so I’ll contact you privately to make a time.

    2. Hi again Bon – I have just booked a workshop space at Kapiti community centre on August 6th – it’s a Sunday and we’ll have the workshop from 12-3pm. Please let me know via karen@karenhunter.com if you’re interested and how I can best get hold of you.
