Here's a blast from the past from a (sonically) very different period of my illustrious career (!).

general hospital ( PUNK COMEDY) for Simone Lehman (Germany)

This is a live recording from around 2001 - recorded at the Arc cafe for a performance as part of  the inaugural 'Dundin fringe fest' - I am performing with the fabulous 'Afghanistan'. Tim Favalle ( Mit Frenzy) guitar and male voice , Derek on bass and Scott on Drums (surnames tba).

This song was originally written in 1985 or so - when I lived in Surry Hills , Sydney, and watched far too much day time Television - it's a hospital drama.............

Simone wrote .........

I don't know if you remember me. I spent a year in NZ around 1996/97 and joined one of your workshops "guitar, voice, songwriting".
Anyway, I still have very vivid and lovely memories from the workshop and occasionally gigging with you and the other girls on stage in the Java.
You may not remember me, so here are a few things. I am originally from Germany, long ginger hair, more of a poet than a guitarist and my favourite song was General Hospital (so punk). I also took some guitar lessons from you.
I got married a few years ago and now live in England with my husband. We have just booked a trip to NZ for next year Feb 09 and I would love to catch up or at least see you performing and wondered whether you were still living  in Auckland and gigging there. It's a long way off but I thought it would be a good opportunity to touch base.
The workshop way back then was very inspiring and I still have all the stuff I wrote, including that from a spontaneous writing excercise called "under my bed", which was terrifying and hilarious at the same time.

Scott ( drummer from Afghanistan band )wrote......

Hi Karen, even though I have that recording it was enjoyable listening to this version as it has been produced more. I have very fond memories of that gig and the trip to Dunedin. Such a lifetime ago now.
Take care
Scott
